Scholarships
Firstly, The UCCS Chancellor’s Award is for incoming full-time freshmen from Colorado. It goes to students based on their high school GPA; if they don’t include test scores, students with a 3.5 GPA or higher will automatically receive the scholarship. If an applicant has an ACT Score of 22 or an SAT score of 1110, plus a 3.0 GPA or higher, they will also automatically receive the scholarship.
It’s also available for transfers with a cumulative 3.0 college GPA or higher and at least 24 college credit hours. The Chancellor’s Award is renewable for up to four years as long as students maintain a 3.0 UCCS GPA. They must also complete 30 credit hours a year, earning a scholarship of $2,500 per year and up to a maximum of $10,000 over four years.
Secondly, The UCCS Peak Award is for incoming full-time freshmen and transfer students not from Colorado. It has the same guidelines as the UCCS Chancellor’s Award regarding GPA and test scores for incoming freshmen and transfers. It is also renewable for up to four years as long as students complete 30 credit hours a year and maintain at least a 3.0 UCCS GPA. This University of Colorado Colorado Springs scholarship is $6,250 annually, up to $25,000 over four years.

Grants
Regarding financial aid, grants are awards that don’t have to be repaid (unlike student loans.) You can use them to offset tuition costs, books, fees, course materials, food and housing, transportation, and more. If you apply for student aid through FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), you will automatically be considered for grants. Grants are awarded based on financial need and eligibility.
Lastly, one of the most popular grants is the Federal Pell Grant, awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need. Pell Grant amounts vary based on individual student needs. Additionally, they are estimated based on how much a student and their family can contribute towards educational expenses for that year.
