In the 1870s, what is now known as “Spruce Mountain Ranch” was once a thriving dairy farm that also grew oats, millet, and hay. The property has changed hands numerous times throughout the years.
In March of 1999, Tom and Lois Ames bought the land. Tom and Lois allocated 100 acres to a housing development. Furthermore, the pair renovated the remaining acreage to become a resort-like atmosphere for families and guests.
Spruce Mountain Ranch ensures that a property manager attends every event, helping manage the vendors, keeping everyone safe, and supporting the client’s event manager in running an amazing event.
The owners specifically constructed Spruce Mountain Ranch’s event spaces to highlight the beauty of Colorado. With both indoor and outdoor venue spaces available, this property can host weddings at all times of the year.
There are five Lower Ranch venues to choose from. Couples can use Albert’s Lodge for the ceremony or reception and host 250-600 guests. This rustic, elegant lodge features a front porch, a floor-to-ceiling wood-burning fireplace, and a built-in bar.
Additionally, a private room has a wet bar, flat-screen TV, and pool table. The massive doors on one side lead to a courtyard lit with romantic market lights, allowing guests to enjoy both indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Colorado Room can be used for the ceremony or reception and can host 80-250 guests. It features indoor and outdoor fireplaces, a stream and a dew pond, flower gardens, and outdoor activities.
The Courtyard can be used for the ceremony or reception and can host 200-400 guests. This outdoor space sits between the Colorado Room and Albert’s Lodge. Rock walls surround this outdoor space that features a rustic log pergola at its entrance.
The Lower Ranch has two ceremony-only sites: Grace’s Chapel and the Mountainside. Grace’s Chapel can host up to 600 guests and has an elegant, southern plantation feel. This space has an incredible view of Spruce Mountain, a flowing creek, and blooming wildflowers. The Mountainside is a vast open meadow area that overlooks the ranch and Ogden Pond.
The Upper Ranch has six venues to choose from. Couples can use The Ponderosa Room, the Spruce Room, the Aspen Room, the Courtyard, and the Lakeview Terrace for the ceremony or reception. The Ponderosa Room can host 350-750 guests and features Colorado style, a rustic interior, an indoor/outdoor fireplace, a courtyard, and a stage.
The Spruce Room can host 250-600 guests and contains a giant floor-to-ceiling fireplace, market lights, overhead glass doors, and a lighted courtyard surrounded by amazing Colorado views.
The Aspen Room can host 150-345 guests and is next to the Spruce Room. It features custom-made 14-foot sliding wood doors, a massive overhead glass door, industrial-chic decor, and unbeatable mountain views.
The Courtyard can host 350-735 guests and is an outdoor event space full of landscaped surroundings, a great place for dancing underneath the stars. The Lakeview Terrace sits on the edge of Angus Lake and features a stone gazebo, a fountain, and natural beauty. It can host 40-85 guests.
Trey’s Vista is the Upper Ranch’s ceremony-only event space, and it is full of nature’s stunning beauty. With an unlimited capacity, Trey’s Vista features hand-crafted wooden doors, a vast grassy vista, and spectacular views of the ranch.
The wedding party can choose from several getting-ready areas, including cottages, a loft, or lounges.
