How Much Do Garden Of The Gods Weddings Cost?
A Garden of the Gods wedding can cost as little or as much as you want to spend! At a minimum, you’ll need to pay $30 for a wedding license, but considering it’s totally free to get married at Garden of the Gods, you don’t have to spend much more. That said, you’ll probably want to budget for things like travel, photography, attire, venue fees, catering, and décor for an offsite reception.
What Time of Year Should You Consider for Your Wedding
Garden of the Gods is pretty spectacular any time of year; some seasons just require a bit more layering! In the winter, dustings of pillowy snow covers the red rock formations and paths. In summer, warm temps mean fewer layers but can make for toasty days full of sun. Spring and fall are great for milder weather, and while spring brings vibrant wildflowers, fall ushers in stunning autumnal colors.
Garden of the Gods Park is a popular tourist venue, so if you want to avoid crowds, consider having your wedding on a weekday or at least at sunrise. You and your guests will appreciate having a few passersby throughout your intimate vows and photos!
Garden Of The Gods Wedding Venues
Garden of the Gods has several sites that can accommodate a small wedding. While no location fees are associated with Garden of the Gods, these sites are first come, first served (without reservations). Jaycee Plaza and High Point have room for up to 50 people, and Sentinel Plaza can accommodate up to 25. However, parking can sometimes be an issue for larger groups, so in my opinion, if you want a larger Garden of the Gods wedding, you may want to consider a nearby resort venue.
That said, there are two picnic areas at Garden of the Gods (Scotsman Picnic Area and South Spring Canyon Area) that are sweet spots for a post-ceremony picnic, but keep in mind that no décor or alcohol are allowed on site, so you’ll need to keep things simple.

Obtaining a Marriage License
Getting your marriage license in Colorado is about as simple as it gets! Bring the required documentation to a county clerk’s office (it doesn’t have to be in the county where you plan on getting married,) pay your fee, and that’s about it! File your license within 30 days, and you’re officially hitched with a Garden of the Gods wedding!
Getting Around Garden Of The Gods
The best way to get to the Garden of the Gods is by car. Driving will be your best option, whether you drive your own car, rent a car, or book a Lyft/Uber. There is a public bus that can take you there, and during the summer, the Garden of the Gods runs a free shuttle for up to 14 guests at a time around the park.
Accommodations for Guests
Garden of the Gods is a short 10 – 15 minute drive outside of Colorado Springs, where there are plenty of places for your guests to stay. Whether you reserve a block of rooms at a nearby hotel or resort or they find their own Airbnb accommodations, your guests will definitely be able to find somewhere comfortable to rest.
