Colorado College

14 East Cache la Poudre St.

Colorado Springs, CO, 80903

Colorado College offers a totally unique approach to academics with a Block Plan. Rather than enrolling in multiple classes to take concurrently, you’ll only take one class at a time for three and a half weeks. You’ll be better able to dive into your current passion while learning critical life balance skills as you manage clubs, internships, athletics, community service, and work. You’ll still choose a major and potentially a minor, and you can also include a thematic minor, which focuses your education “on significant themes examined from several disciplinary perspectives.” All first-year students, sophomores, and juniors are required to live on campus for an even more immersive collegiate and community experience!

Pikes Peak State College

5675 S. Academy Blvd.

Colorado Springs, CO 80906

Formerly Pikes Peak Community College, the new and improved Pikes Peak State College now offers four-year degrees and a new level of “support and adaptability” uncommon at community colleges. They currently offer nearly 200 degrees and certificates, including popular programs like veterinary technology, surgical technology, cybersecurity, and hospitality. One of the biggest draws of Pikes Peak State College is their affordability. They offer plenty of opportunities for financial aid and scholarships, and many of their students attend at no cost. Careers in healthcare and the majority of their certificate programs are also covered entirely by state grants! While there is no on-campus housing, there is still a lively student community. It is made up of clubs, student government, activities, and more.
